I thought this was amusing. The Chinese have recreated a typical, bland southern California neighborhood. A new upper class subdivision of Beijing popped up, aptly named Orange County. The O.C.: Beijing was designed by Americans, decorated by SoCal interior designers using American materials, appliances, etc., and soon will be occupied by pretentious, snobby, and surgically enhanced Beijingers who are yearning for the SoCal lifestyle.
